Science and Tech Exhibition: Rules & Regulations

Eligibility:

  • Open to students from 8th to 10th grade (Group B only).

  • Participants can work individually or in groups (maximum of 3 students per group).

  • Schools, organizations, or individual participants may submit entries.

  • Participants should be a registered student of a registered school.

  • Participants or their parents/guardians must have an active Instagram account.

How To Participate:

It's a simple four-step flow
  • Step 1 - Select any one topic or concept of your choice on science and technology and create a working model on it.

  • Step 2 - Create a Reel & Click a photo and post them on Instagram with our tags and mentions.

  • Step 3 - Submit the link of your reel post and image post by clicking the Submit Your Entry button on this page, then fill out the form, pay the fees and submit the form.

  • Step 4 - Once shortlisted, be present at our mega offline event for the final round to win exciting prizes & mega scholarships.


  • Follow the Participation Flow And Conditions given below strictly for seamless participation and to avoid disqualification.

Participation Flow & Conditions:

  • Choose a topic or concept on science & technology and create a working model on that.

  • Create a reel of less than 1 minute demonstrating the working model, along with a verbal explanation of the science or technology concept demonstrated.

  • Ensure the video is clear and has good audio and visual quality.

  • The logo of our lead sponsor must be clearly visible in the background throughout the video. This logo should be printed, displayed, or included in editing the reel but should be prominently visible to ensure it's easily recognizable. To download the logo of our lead sponsors, CLICK HERE.


  • Round 1: Participants must post the reel they created of the explanation of their working model on their or their parent's Instagram account.

  • The post should collaborate with our lead sponsor's official Instagram page accounts: @vyasresidentialprogram and @vyas_edification.

  • Participants must also use the sponsor's and competition hashtags - #vrpkota, #vyasedification & #tito in their posts.

    NOTE: It is mandatory to include mentions @vyasresidentialprogram, @vyas_edification and hashtags #vrpkota, #vyasedification & #tito to ensure their entry is considered.

  • Then Participants must submit the link to their Instagram posts through a Submit Your Entry form, along with their name, grade, school details etc. by clicking the orange colour button on this page.

  • Include your name, grade, and other school details in the form.

  • Round 2 (Offline): Shortlisted participants will be invited to present their models in person at the offline exhibition held at the VRP campus, Kota. Finalists will compete at the offline exhibition for the top prizes.

  • Participants must create a working model that demonstrates a concept of science or its application in technology (e.g., energy conservation, robotics, environmental solutions, etc.).

  • Models should be original creations or significant improvements upon existing models, and participants should be able to explain the science/tech behind them.

  • Only shortlisted participants from the Round 1 submissions will be invited to the offline exhibition.

  • The participants can choose either English or Hindi as the language to create a reel of the explanation video.

Important Dates:

  • Online Video Submission Deadline: 08 December 2024

  • Announcement of Shortlisted Participants: 01 January 2025

  • Offline Exhibition and Final Presentation at VRP Campus, Kota: 25 to 26 January 2025

Evaluation Criteria:

  • Creativity and Innovation: Originality of the model and concept.

  • Scientific/Technical Accuracy: Accuracy and relevance of the science or technology demonstrated.

  • Practicality and Applicability: Potential real-world application or relevance of the model.

  • Presentation: Clarity of verbal explanation and demonstration of the model.

  • Video Quality: The quality of the video in showcasing the model effectively.

  • The evaluation of social media posts will also include the Social Media Engagement marks (Msme) for Facebook and will depend on comments (C), likes (L) and shares (S).

    • Msme = ( C + L/50 + S/5 )

Participation Fee:

  • A nominal registration fee of INR 20 per participant.

  • For group entries, each member of the group must pay the registration fee.

  • Please ensure that you have posted the REEL on Instagram as per the contest format before filling out the entry submission form.

Prizes and Recognition:

  • Gold Medal: INR 11,000 cash prize + Trophy + Certificate of Achievement.

  • Silver Medal: INR 5,100 cash prize + Medal + Certificate of Achievement.

  • Bronze Medal: INR 2,100 cash prize + Medal + Certificate of Achievement.

  • All participants will receive an e-certificate of participation.

Submission Guidelines:

  • Post the reel/video on your own or your parent's Instagram account with the required mentions/collaborations and hashtags.

  • Ensure the sponsor’s logo is visible/displayed in the reel/video/post, all the collaborations are done & all the hashtags are placed in captions for consideration of the entry.

  • Submit the Instagram reel/video link and image post link via the Submit Your Entry button provided on this page.

  • Include your name, grade, and other school details in the form.

General Guidelines:

  • All models must be safe and should not involve hazardous materials or dangerous processes.

  • The verbal explanation in the video must be clear and concise and should demonstrate a thorough understanding of the model.

  • Models should be portable or easily transportable for display at the offline exhibition.

  • Offensive or inappropriate content will not be tolerated and will result in disqualification.

  • The organizers reserve the right to modify rules and conditions if necessary. Any changes will be communicated to participants.

  • If a participant submits multiple entries, then only the best entry will be considered from all the submitted entries.

  • Late submissions will not be accepted.

  • The organizers reserve the right to modify or cancel the competition at any time.

  • By participating in the competition, participants agree to these rules and regulations and the terms and conditions.

  • Mere participating in this event doesn't give you any right to claim anything from organisers or sponsors.
